One of the best ways organizations can reduce the risk for injuries, especially work-related musculoskeletal disorders, is to avoid introducing the risk in the first place. Engineers are educated on designing robust processes, equipment and products, but they often lack training on designing for the most important component of the system: the human. This session will discuss why it’s critical to engage with your design and development teams early in the design process to proactively identify and address potential risks in new products and processes. We’ll discuss general criteria and implementation strategies that allow these teams to create designs that optimize human performance and mitigate future risk.
